What are PDO threads?

PDO stands for polydioxanone, which is a sterile, fully dissolvable material used for surgical sutures. PDO threads are fully dissolvable, which means there is no risk of scar tissue forming. While PDO threads fully dissolve within six months following their insertion, the age-defying benefits will continue for up to a year or longer, as the threads stimulate the body’s own production of collagen and elastin.

How does a PDO thread lift work?

One of the most common results of the natural aging process is a loss of volume, due to the declining production of collagen and elastin in our skin. As we lose volume, our facial contours can start to sag, leading to lines and wrinkles and crepiness. PDO threads provide a scaffolding-type of support structure beneath the skin, resulting in an immediate skin tightening, smoothing and lifting effect.
